My son rented a single room with ensuite shower/loo for a year last August. From the beginning the bathroom was an issue and it took many months to sort out. There were issues with the ventilator fan, the overhead bathroom light and the drainage from the sink, shower and loo via the macerator. Every request to sort these issues out was met with prevarication and delay. Engineers were supposedly booked who didn't turn up. Reports from the engineers were ignored and other engineers brought in. The ventilation and overhead light issue was put down to a leaking roof, which then took until well into this year to sort out. In the meantime the lack of ventilation allowed mould to grow. One macerator was replaced only when it was spewing 'grey' water onto the bathroom floor! Fortunately the tenants with the shared bathroom allowed my son to use their facilities as he was not able to use his bathroom at all for several weeks. No reduction of the rent was offered by the agent to compensate my son for the lack of the ensuite during this period. When my son became frustrated with the lack of progress he was told by the agent (Danny) that his tone was not appreciated and that he (Danny) would look into releasing my son from his contract if necessary! To cap it all, after my son moved out and the new tenant moved in (some three weeks later), we were informed that there was a bed bug infestation and the agent withheld our deposit return to pay for the treatment of the infestation and the new bed. We refused to pay, so we had to go through the DPS process and eventually we got our money back as there was absolutely no proof that my son had been responsible for the infestation. Landlords and agents know that they have tenants over a barrel, properties are in short supply, so even those offering poor service and over priced, poorly maintained properties will have their properties occupied. Avoid this company if you are able.

We rented our dream home with Maurice Louis. They were throughout our tenancy very responsive and provided the best maintenance service. When we decided to buy our home from the landlord they went above and beyond to secure a successful outcome. We are very grateful to Maurice Louis and we definitely recommend them!
